A Brief History
Stedfast Baptist Academy was founded as a ministry of the Stedfast Baptist Church in 2003. The primary mission of the academy is to assist parents in training their children according to biblical standards.
Purpose
The primary purpose of Stedfast Baptist Academy is to give each student the maximum knowledge of secular subjects and the essentials of culture in the light of God’s Word, “…that in all things He might have the preeminence” (Col. 1:18). Even though knowledge is factually the same for the believer and unbeliever, no subject can be taught in its truth if its originator is ignored. Recognizing that spiritual truths are spiritually discerned, only teachers who have personally accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior can possibly teach in a way pleasing to God. Consequently, only a Christian school, with born-again teachers can give a child the education God expects in keeping with His instruction in Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Our entire school program is designed to help parents fulfill this command of God.
Curriculum
The Stedfast Baptist Academy offers a traditional academic program. All essential academic subjects are included and are taught at the appropriate grade levels. The Bible is taught as an academic subject and is also integrated into other subjects. Stedfast Baptist Academy strives for academic and spiritual excellence.
Extra-Curricular Activities
We offer a variety of extra-curricular activities to include: boys varsity cross-country and basketball, girls volleyball and cheerleading, an honors society, and a yearbook committee.
Biblical Position
The Word of God is the final source for our instruction in spiritual matters. Doctrinal teaching is consistent with the historic Baptist position. Stedfast Baptist Academy has a two-fold Bible emphasis: to show each student his need of Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and to present the Bible as God’s absolute standard for moral conduct. For the sake of uniformity and in keeping with our position of the inerrancy of the Scriptures, only the King James Version of the Bible is used.
